Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 - 11:24 A.M. There's a new anti-drug commercial on tv that has been really bothering me. For the record, I'm very much in favor of the legalization of drugs. This does not necessarily mean that I do drugs regularly or advocate their use in any way. I just think that legalizing drugs would be a step in the right direction to effectively dealing with many of the issues that surround them. In the aforementioned commercial two youths are sat in their parents' study. They are just hanging out taking bong hits. They giggle and ask one another stupid questions for a minute or so, when one kid randomly finds a gun laying around. When the other kid asks if it's loaded, he responds with, "Nah." This is followed by a loud bang and the commercial fades to black. A message then appears on the screen stating something or other about how the use of marijuana impairs ones judgement. UM, HELLO????? Are we such a fucking pro-gun nation that it's supposed to seem totally natural and ok that there's a loaded gun lying around this kid's house? While I don't think that 15 year olds should necessarily be taking bong hits in Daddy's study, I also don't think that Daddy should be leaving out his loaded handgun. What does that say about his non-marijuana (as we're expected to assume) impaired judgement? I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out that this commercial is funded by the NRA. Ugh. Shit like this just makes me mad because well, it's absolutely ridiculous. On a lighter note, even if you didn't go there, this is just fucking funny:![]() take the nyu type quiz. and then browse around mewing.net. because laura is cool.
