I really, really love the Christmas season. It’s actually pretty amazing that I feel this way considering that I’ve had some pretty horrible Christmas pasts, but I definitely do. It seems to have come so quickly this year; I can’ believe Christmas Eve is a week from today! That means that my birthday is in eleven days, and my Mother’s birthday is in fourteen. It’s all pretty exciting.
This week is all about meeting up with friends and finishing my Christmas shopping. Tonight Kevin is going to come over for some food, company, and vino. Nance called a little while ago and invited me over for dinner and drinks on Thursday night with her, Kelly, and Adam. The last time that all four of us hung out together was sometime last winter, so I’m really excited.
Christmas shopping is something I’ve never really been good at. This year however, I think I’ve found a really great gift for my Mom. The woman has pretty much everything that she wants, so she’s difficult to buy for. She asked for a CD which I’m going to buy this afternoon, but I wanted to add something to that. Then, one night last week I was tooling around online, and stumbled upon the perfect gift.
Please meet Geraldine. You can find her by scrolling down to the third cutie. Also, bear in mind that my Mother’s name is Geraldine. I’m really excited about showing her this present. Now I just have to figure out something to buy my father in addition to the flannel shirt I’ve already purchased.
Lastly, I miss Lee a lot during the holidays. It really sucks being so far away from so many people about whom I really care. If I had my way, I’d be able to gather them all up for one huge party to end all other parties. Yeah, that would do it.
