Because I accidentally either threw out or drank (don't ask) my contact lenses, I'm wearing my glasses today. I haven't done so for a while, and I have to admit that I'm kind of digging it. Things in the office are (surprise, surprise) slow today. In an attempt to busy myself I've invented some little projects. That said, I've been organizing and filing for the past two hours. I sort of feel obligated to make sure everything here is in top shape before I leave the job in oh, just about 13 working days now. Woo-Hoo!
Tonight I am off to Nancy and Kelly's where Adam will be joining us for dinner. If we feel up to it, we might head over to Vox for a drink afterwards. It'll definitely be a low-key and realtively early night though, as we all have to work tomorrow and Adam and I will have to drive home. It's been ages since I have hung out with the three of them together so I suspect it'll be good fun.
Really though, I can't wait for this week to be over. I'm leaving for my parents' house on Saturday morning and will remain there in NY until January 1st. I'm excited about having so much time off work, seeing my parents, cuddling with the puggles, and going into NY for my birthday. It's looks like it's going to be a very enjoyable little break. That is, of course, if my Mother can hold back on the melodrama regarding my move and if my Father doesn't get on my case about anything. Gotta love good old-fashioned family drama.
I could leave work early today by saying I'm going to the campus-wide Holiday party and then just blowing it off. I don't know if I have the guts to do that though. I'd be afraid of someone spotting me while I was driving or something like that. I'll probably just stay here and then leave a few minutes early. I don't really have any interest in actually attending the partty so that's not an option.
For now, I think I'll go make some hot Chai and get back to filing.
